Year 1 Spring Term

What a busy yet exciting first half of the Spring term we have had!

As part of our Religious Education we have been learning all about different places of worship and religions. We focused our learning around a Church and looked at how the buildings are used, the things we might find in a Church and the religions that go there. We then compared this information with other places of worship involving the children experiences too.

We were so lucky to have the opportunity to visit a real Church in the local area. Reverend styles and his colleague kindly took us on a tour around the Evangelical Church. We explored all around the building and we even got to see the giant font! We sang songs and participated in a question and answer session where we found lots about the Evangelical Church.

The children thoroughly enjoyed the visit and were extremely well behaved! Well Done children Smile

After our visit, we wrote letters to Reverend Styles and the Evangelical Church to say thank you for a brilliant trip! We really enjoyed it and learnt lots about the Church and religion.

Year 3 and 4 Trip to Beaumanor Hall

As part of our work on Children in World War II, our children were ‘evacuated’ to Beaumanor Hall for the day. We had a great time learning about codes and identity cards, experiencing an air raid in the cellars, and solving a war time mystery.
